hey guys...i was on my way back from a hair cut when i caught up to a mustang. it had dual exhaust so i knew it had to be the 4.6L or the junker w/ a new exhast. anyways this isnt a race story or ne thing. with my 328is at 40 mph vs his caro...what do u think would happen. i was below a 1/4 tank so i wasnt too down w/ wasting any gas. any specs on the stang vs my 190 hp. later B)

Talking

i could be the 5.0 stock...do u mean beat? . i know my car is way lighter and im sure the gears are shorter, but he does have the torque and HP i dont have...
1/4 mile times...
1999 Ford Mustang GT 14.1 im pretty sure thats what it was, but i dont know mustangs...i pry woulda got killed. cuz when they do stock times its at 3/4 tank of gas around 70F (right?) and it is said that the 328is can do 14.7...but im not that consistent at shifting

5.0s like the 94-95 ran like high 14s, with a air intake and good driving you could take that, i don't know about the 328 times, i'm guessing there low to flat 15s stock, my 325 ran 15.2 with air intake, haven't tested it with the chip yet, cause the air temp,

Agreed. The mustang has more "Torque" (keyword) and even more HP/tonne than the 328. I'm not even sure that the mustang would weigh more than the 328. BMW's are really heavy. Gear ratios would play a small factor, but the mustang would still win. I can out corner Mustangs on the street/track, so it's no biggie if they're faster in the straights. In the real world, where it matters, a BMW would be faster anyday (with the right driver). Mustangs suck on the track. Everytime I see one on the track, I'm scared that he's going to wipe out and take me out with him. Steer clear of mustangs, it's even scary in a drag race.

From what other people have said you would be even to ahead until high speeds when the GT would probably pull ahead.

blah...raced a new mustang GT the other day with my stock 325i that has 152k on it. dead even until i shifted to 3rd, and i left him behind. mustangs are not fast at all. i used to drive them for a living, as well as many other cars. it was nice working at a car auction...
