my 92 325i over heats - BMW Forum

hey i m new here and this is my 1st BMW. i changed the serpentine belt and the thermostat and my car is over heating help anyone?

These machines have a tendency to trap air in the system if the system has been opened (flush and refill, etc). Try bleeding the cooling system (start her up and let her idle and then there should be a screw on thermostat housing that you can open a bit and watch coolant flow out along with air bubbles, then re-tighten the screw). Bleeding might take a few attempts.

probably just air...keep bleeding it and toping it off...did you put the thermostat in backwards?

and don't over tighten the plastic screw. they become frail over time and can break easily

wait wait...serpintine belt? i figured it was a 92 325i convertible cause those are still E30's...but if you have a serpintine belt its a 325i E36

is this an E30 or E36?

E36 IT WAS THE WATER PUMP IT HAD A CRACK IN IT THANKS FOR THE INFO

moved to E36 section, even though its resolved it will be archived in the right place at least
