Can somebody pleeaaassssseeeee cause tell me how many quarts of oil I'm suppose to put in my engine cause the f....g mechanic I have told me it takes 8 quarts and me I just read that all the E36 take like 6 or 6.5 quarts.
I actually changed the oil yesterday and added 8 quarts and to tell the truth, I don't like the way the car runs.
I have another question: the old owner of my car usually put 10w30 Synt... in the engine. I read that Synt.. is not the best way to go with, especially 10w30, when the car is old. I told him about that and he said that the car beeing a 1995 was not a problem cause the engine only had 36 000 miles on it, what do you guys think about that?
Synthetic is good. Your engine doesn't NEED it, but it is the way to go. I switched my 1996 328i to synthetic at 170,000 miles. Keep in mind that you don't have to change the oil as often when you run synthetic.
