man, what a dumb topic.... just kidding- my window moldings are chipped and faded too. I need new ones as well. I think you could get them from the dealership. BMW san diego doest chagre rape for their parts, but thats in my area. Anyway, I've looked around and I dont know where else you can get them from
I had sun damage on my molding around my drivers window, and bought it at the dealership. The top molding and the bottom rubber piece was around $100 for both not installed. I have a 2 door 325is so it may be different pricewise than your car. I would also recommend getting it installed by a professional. On my car they had to take the back side window completely out.

The rubber seals on your windows that keep water out.......duh!!!!! :P
On E46 and E39 they are chrome. Actually mine needed replacing when I bought my car. The dealer at BMW of Manhattan charged me 125$ for the cowl trim...under the windshield...and this included installation.
Also check BAVAUTO.com and REALOEM.com for parts.
the window moldings are also known as "trim" as well.

really...that's insane, our BMW dealerships around here usually keep good stock or they'll get it in one day...try BMW Of Manhattan...I have nothing but good things to say about them!
