Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum so if there already is a thread pertaining to this topic, my fault. Anyway, I just got a 1998 328i a little while ago and it's completely stock. I was wondering what modifications I should do to it. I was looking at wheels and CAI but I don't know which to get and I want just a muffler not a whole exhaust system cuz I don't have the money. Thanks for your help. ~Schnitz
i also have a 328i and im gonna buy some M5 replicas....believe me they look hot...my second choice would be the old M3 style replicas . Right now my 328i is stock too, but the next thing im getting are the 18in M5 wheels, then hopefully an AA Tuning Exhaust, ooo and get some clear corners instead of the orange ones(bavauto.com has some).
Ill be sure to post some pics of my 328i with the rims once there on!
I would recomend going to wheelexchange.com and having a look. I haven't made purcases from them, but I have read everything on their website, and they seem to be quite reputable. I think a few of the guys here have bought from them. They have an excellent selection.
If you like to "drive" your car, i would recomend 17's, if you don't an 18 will fit wihtout rubbing. DONT BUY BIGGER THAN THAT!
I purchased these from wheelexchange.com and they are fucking bas ass. I get compliments all the time and they literally make the car. They aren't real M3 rims, those cost about 2000, but they are exact replicas of them. They may have a different weight and aren't staggered, but the price is unbeatable. I had an awesome experience with wheel exchange and recieved the rims via Fed Ex for 1289.00 shipped with tires rotated and balanced. The quality is superb. Don't go for more than 18's!!
What about mufflers? I want to be pretty loud but not like hardcore ricer, i only want muffler and tips too cuz i don't have anywhere near enough money to spend $600+ on an exhaust system. Sound clips would be sweet too.

jllphan- where did you get your wheels? Those are sweet
Tanks :wink . I purchased them from a local Autohaus here in Nashville. When I acquired the car it had type44 wheels (BMW e46 wheels) which looked nice, but I wanted something that was proper for the time period. I also dont see these much, which is nice to have something that you don't constantly see on the road.
Wow, that's a $900 exhaust system...he said he couldn't do more than $600

Actually, he said he didn't have $600.00 to spend on an exhaust.
If he had exactly that, I would have recomended the DTM Stainless Catback from Borla. I've not yet heard one similar from the sound clips you guys upload, or the ones that some the guys around here use.
If you want a little more balls than the Euro sound like AA or Remus but at the same time stay way far from a fart canon ricer sound, this is the exhaust to own...
