I've seen some bimmers that are E36's without markings on the back. Do owners remove them? Why would they do that? Are they trying to be discrete about owning a bmw?

There is a debadge option for those who don't want people to know what they are driving or don't like the look of the badging.

They are a piece of piss to remove with a small amount of heat to loosen the adhesive.

Kicks ass at traffic light when CRXs or civics want to race and they dunno whats under the hood.

For example my friend with his M5 V8 engine in front and no badge on the back

The stock pipes are a good indicator though.

most civics don't know to look for pipes like that on a bimmer...

other like it for the cleaner/smoother look.

some may do it because they don't want others to know they are sporting a 1.8 L 4 banger.

^Yep, most around my area are company cars driven by sales reps... most of them are 4 pots and they do it to hide the fact they've got a 'cheap' one

Keep them guessing

whats wrong with a cheap one n

I should have waited to get a better one, but my dad liked it for gas mileage, and he is afraid of me having some horses...already lost my Ls with a 4 banger a couple years ago

I dont think anything is wrong with the "cheap" one :-D I actually tried to get a little 318ti a few weeks ago, but the damn bank wouldn't give me a car loan because they said I already had one out.

I don't own a 318, but is that really called a cheap one? I like just about all e36 3 series ... very classy and great drive.

"cheap one" that's a civic. A non-M BMW is a non-M BMW. BTW the "cheap" 4 bangers last longer.
