could someone just inform me if the micro filter, filters just the air comming from outside the cabin inwards only? or does it filter the recirulating air in the cabin also?
the filter ac will reciculate the air if u press the recirculate button if that function is off it will take fresh air from outside. and it does filter the air in the cabin
All I know is after changing my filter my AC is like night and day. Before I would have to put it on Full Blast for only 1 person to be a lil comfortable now its I keep it on Auto it stays on 2 dials and it keeps the entire car cool. When I took my filter out it was like a birds nest was laying up in there. It was crazy.
SAme here man, mine was even dirtier than a nest, the car has 208,000 on it and i dont think it was ever changed, i changed it and the ac is like if i put it on 3 u feel cold in the car, i gotta keep it on 2 to keep the car cool enough and not to catch cold, haha.. do u think the ac systems are different in the 6cyl BMw's and the 4cyl BMw's
how do you take out the microfilter, cause the air in my car is super hot. maybe that may be the problem. also, what do you suggest i do to clean it...just water?
the micro filter should be replaced if you arent getting good air flow, doubt its your hotness problem... but you buy a new microfilter pretty much like you would an air filter and just replace it instead of cleaning it...
The cabin filter will filter any air passing through the evaporator, inside or outside air. Here's a link explaining the cabin filter replacement: E36 Cabin Air filter replacement.
