When ever there is a bump etc.. i get this metalic rattle sounds from the front wheel. I couldn't be bothered jacking up the car and asked the mechanic like 6 months ago. He reckoned it was the heat shields doing it and tightened.
Its still doing it.. what else could make that sound? Brake shields etc?
I KNOW exactly what it is... It's the brake disc cover plate that has come away from a 10mm bolt LOL... This happened to me and was very annoying so I tore it off ... Hahahaha

E36 are usually the bottom ball joint (built into the arm). The noise is often more noticed at lower speed. The anti roll bar connectors are also a possible but often less likley.
