I have a bmw 318i 1994 m43 full m3 kit nice looking car, but its boring "automatic" I have been tossing up to sell it to buy a 1996 VW Golf VR6 2.8 litre. I prefer the looks of my BMW but i think the VW would be alot more fun. Can i have an honest non biast opinion on wat your thoughts are on both cars
Thx

You should sell it and get a manual BMW... a lot more fun than what you have...

This BMW has only caused me problems, i havent got much faith in others, and BMW's over here in Australia are very heavily price so realistically you dont get wat you pay for. A 318i 1994 model is valued at around $us 13,000 over here and thats with 100,000miles. But i love the handling and the turning of heads and the comfy ride

i love the GTI VR6, i think that car would be loads of fun to drive, and i really hope my brother gets one. but for me, bimmers look nicer, and know a stick bmw will be just as fun or funner to drive.

it's really all prefference, my twin brother wants a VR6 and i want an e36, they are both nice, quick, german made cars. if you like your bimmer, but don't like auto, you could just by a stick, and while your buying a new car, you may as well look for a bimmer with a larger motor like 325 or 328 ... i'm sure you'll have the fun your looking for then!

good luck!

they vr6 is a pretty good engine and gtis are pretty good cars. im just not a huge fan of VW. its mainly the fwd, and i actaully dont like their interiors even thoguh everyone loves it. I am not that biased of a driver and like my friends gti. the only gti i would ever buy would be a R32 hahaha. but you would have SOOOOO much more power if you went from the 318 to a vr6 gti!! mind blowing. but you can get the same from a 328. its your pick.

Nah its not a pick, no such thing as a 328i in Australia so i can compare it to a 325i or a 323 :P in that sort of league

a vr6 is also around $5000 cheaper than a 325i, and thats with the vr6 having approx 50,000 less k's so at the moment im looking towards the vr6 but i have to say i loved the rwd of the beamer

yeah, and a roo bar won't look quite right on a bmw or vw......and you cant forget those car killing wombats....

only time i ever saw one it was on the side of the road with its legs up in the air.

so beyond the good cars....would you consider yourself a ford or a holden person.....if you had no other choice???? i spent a bit of time down under, and im amused with the rivalry just like ford and chevy.....

ford cant get a brake anywhere.......

Mark
