Maybe buying an E36? - BMW Forum

Hey guys been thinking about buying an E36 (328Isport if im wrong with the code) instead of a 200sx.

I know stock they produce about 190bhp, im just wondering if they are very tuneable? I have an fto v6 right now but its not very tuneable at all being a v6.

Can anybody give me some pointers etc?

Hey Welcome to the forum. Yes, they are tuneable to a point. depending on what you want to do. Some basic bolt on stuff: Intake, exhaust, chip would be a good easy start. If you have the time and money you can go F/I.

Yes, a few of the common problems these E36 models have are: water pump failure, (you'll need to replace with metal impellar) rear sub-frame failure, idle control valve can get "sticky". Just go buy a Bentley Manual at a dealership or any major bookstore. It' will save your life when working on your car.
