hey hoo

i purchased my beemer 2nd hand & was given a Master Key together with a separate remote control alarm unit (little boxey thing w buttons). the latter had a keyring type handle which broke, so i got tired of carrying the master key (for ignition) AND this dumb box for the alarm.
now upon reading the manual, it says that the master key is ALSO an alarm activator. the batteries are superweak for the key by the way (coz the light in the key is weak when i press it)
so....does this mean that if i get new batteries i can activate the alarm thru my master key or does it remain in that silly box? (which's also low on batts. now).

sorry, this is long-winded. women tend to talk too much anyway.

thanks!
