Hey all I got my new microfilter today and am not sure if it is the correct one. I say this because it is huge! I just thought I might check here before tearing my dash apart and have to exchange it. pn is 64-11-9-069-895 measuses about 9"x18" Thanks all!
That is what my parts CD and Pelican parts on the net says it is. At least with that part number. There are many people on this forum that have changed it. They should be able to tell. Does it look like the plastic frame is segmented into three parts? You actually have to snap it in two places to get it to fit.

Sounds too big to me. For a 1999 323i convertible, the part number for the cabin microfilter is:
64 11 1 393 489
i ripped my dash apart only to find... you are correct sir! 393 489 is much smaller
right now i have no microfilter and the heating does not work properly! i hope pelican is good about returning this.
the old one was a clogged rats nest, so it will be nice to have good a/c this summer
OMG i am such a tard!!!!!
I was gonna package the new filter to send back and while feeling it I noticed the box is bigger than the actual filter. It is the right one after all. I feel soo stupid.
Now I'm off to toss it in the car!
Yeah. Furious' DIY ftw! I think the most time-consuming part on the first try is getting that little cluster of wires out, because of fear of breaking something. A good tug does the job. I now replace my microfilter every other oil change, while the oil drips.

The 64 11 9 069 895 is the new part number for the E36 microfilter, the old # was 64 11 1 393 489. Having my own copy of ETK rules I've done so many E36 microfilters at work that I can do a complete swap in 7 min.
