Ack! i've just noticed my air flow sensor is cracked! it has been temporarily sealed with silicone but notice spots where it's still cracked and not sealed. i guess the previous owner did a mickey mouse job. (can't believe i didn't spot this till now) ghead Could i lose power/performance because of this??? I've found some on ebay, 1's from a 318is and the other from an m3. are they all the same fitment for the e36? will it fit my 318i correctly???

It would help if you told us what motor you have.

318's have MAF's, 325/328/M3's have HFM's and AFM's.

318 and 325's MAF's and AFM/HFM's are not interchangeable as they aren't even the same thing.

An M3 HFM/AFM will work with the 325. However, I've heard you'll need software upgrades because the diammeter is larger.
