Manually Locking the roof stowage cover 328i vert

I have a 1996 BMW328i vert and I want to be able to operate the roof 100% manually (permanently). I can disconnect the 2 roof motors in the boot, I can take out the 4 fuses (including fuse 49 in the boot) - this shoulod stop the roof microswitches working and the boot locking. BUT - once the roof is down how do I manually lock down the roof stowage cover? - Is there any way - or is there a conversion kit to do this?

On your model, you cannot lock it in the down position, unless power is restored.

The emergency lever under the left rear cushion provides you a means to disconnect the gear drives so you can raise the top; but, it cannot be lowered again unless the system is re-energized.
