manual window conversion

hi guys, i have a 1992 ,ode; 318i e36 body with manual windows. is it possible to convert it into power windows?

I don't think so, well sometimes I know other car manufactures had the wiring harness in place, with blanks in the location of the power window switches. Maybe just pull off 1 door panel & see if there is wiring for a power window regulator there ......if not, I remember seeing a thread somewhere about an aftermarket set up....but that seems like a lot of work......

Like I mentioned in the other thread, I think it will be a ton of work. I've been in 1986 Datsuns that have been retrofitted with power windows, so it is possible. However, I think you will either have to use an aftermarket kit, or scavenge for BMW parts and make them fit in your car

i search for the shops who can fit power window into my car and the estimate cost is 150usd per door.. that will make 600 for the whole car, all in, including installation and parts. the parts are surplus but still in good condition... is worthy?

I would say it is up to you to decide if this is worth it. I personally wouldn't spend $600 on this, but maybe you like power windows better than I do.

i decided to keep the original style which is the manual operated.. as i search on the forum lot of guys here have problems with their power windows i guess its not worth lol
