M50 Manifold - BMW Forum

Alright here's the deal. I've been reading around a lot and it seems a lot of people replace the M52 Intake Manifold in the 328 with the M50 Intake Manifold from the 325. I'm wondering what the advantages and disadvantages of this mod are since I'd like to start doing some serious work on my 328is.

Basically what alpine said, but it gives more hp in the upper rpms because it can flow more air. I think guys have said they can get up to 10 hp more.

I can sell you one that never made it into my E36.

My dads friend just got his 325i smashed up. He's got some parts from it including the intake manifold. So I scored a free/cheap manifold! I can always use more Horsepower. Thanks for the input everyone.

I would like to find out if this mod will work on the 1999 328i conv. It is still a e36 but everything I read talks about through 1998. Is there something different about the 1999 or is it that the coupe changed to e46 that gets the convert 328 left out of the discussion.

This will definitely work on an E36 1999 328is vert. Do it!

i also have a 99 328is and plan on eventually swaping the intake out with the m50. how long and complicated is this "easy" hp gain? i enjoy diy work so how long am i lookin at enjoying this task.

....I'm right here......& danny is right....check out my thread... It took roughly 5 hours to do the swap....& extra 2 hours to build the hose kit myself.
