Hey, this question might have been stated before, but i just wanted a nice solid answer. I'm planning on investing in the m50 intake manifold kit from turner or understeer along with underdrive pulleys and the fan delete, and i was wondering if I needed any extra ECU tuning to get the maximum performance out of it. So far I only have an intake and exhaust and I was wondering if I get the JC Shark Injector, if i would be able to reprogram it so it makes use of the new intake manifold and pulleys or will the shark injector not matter? Should I just remap the original ecu? Or do you guys recommend another chip? Thanks for the help!
I don't believe you need any tuning to your ECU to do this swap. All it is is larger ports with small pipes to run through so it increases HP. No need to remap or program anything from my knowledge base I wouldn't buy a shark either. Spend that money and get an OBD1 wiring harness w/ecu and then chip it with a custom made chip and you'd be set. Joey and I have both done this with our 328 engines and it's amazing.
