M3 rear lights wired different to normal coupe?

Hi all, newbie, i have a lovely 318iS Coupe, 96/7 model in white. in the process of livening it up, i purchased what appears to be a pair of genuine M3/ Cabrio rear lights, with the whote indicator strip. fitted them and they look cool. However just after i'd put all my bits away, i decided to check that all the lights were working, and to be honest didnt expect them not to.
everything appears to work except for my brake lights. fog, tail, reverse, indicators, etc all great, but nothing for brakes. i unpluged the new ones and repluged the old ones andyup, brakes were on.
i then noticed that the pivn configurations were different.
so has anyone had this problem before? and if so, which wires do i move to where? i assume i'll have to alter the pins around in the mulitplug but dont know which to where. bit annoying really.
Cheers
Chris
