m3 exhaust vs 328 exhaust, is there any performance difference?
im wanting to get an m3 exhaust, since i dont want an aftermarket one, will it do any good on my 328, or is it the same exhaust as my 328? thanks in advance
its $150 shipped
this is off a 99 m3 with 56k miles
well performance wise not really better it will sound a bit deeper , but you wont notice anything in terms of performance. is it worth it? well i guess yes it is because the car will breath a bit better and it will compliment any other mods you do in the future. also it looks better with the staggered tips than the stocky one
The biggest difference I notice between E36 M3 and 328 exhausts is what happens after it really warms up. I notice after about 25ish miles of driving that the note gets really deep, and flooring it then sounds great. After 150 miles constant driving, it sounds even better.
Performance wise the 328 is better. The M3 exhaust really does nto provide any performance gains, but rather impacts performance negatively because it's excessively heavy. It weighs close to 50 lbs, which is heavier than the 328 exhaust. On top fo that the exhaust hangers on the M3 are weak and poorly designed. They break easily and you may see yourself replacing them every 50,000 miles.
The Pro? It looks good, sounds decent for a stock exhaust. Is it enough sound ot make a difference? Yes, but to be honest the stock M3 exhaust will always get drowned otu by all other noises.
I recommend you just save up or look for a killer deal like swapping stock + cah for a good brand exhaust.
