I'm in the process of doing a cam upgrade on my 1996 328i from the standard cams to M3 cams which I have been told will give me more raw power.
In the process I have been told my my peers to upgrade the cam springs as well.
My question to you my valued consultants and believe me you all are is... what do you suggest?
I'd really appreciate your timely response on this matter.

how many miles are on the engine?

normally if your doin that kind of work then i would upgrade the springs also

Well thats what I was told but I also wanted to know if there would be any considerable increase in the power.

Did the research and found that this would actually be a senseless upgrade and a waste of cash considering there would be no great increase in the power of the car.

dunno where you are at in upgrades... but the baseline upgrade is a change in computer chip... 22+ hp increase, better low end grunt, and increases redline :-)

all that advantage for an hour's worth of labor vis-a-vis at least 3 hrs for cam ;-) add another to change valve springs. and 20 more hours if u mess up ;-)
