I'm at work right now trying to look into this question....
There seems to be 2 ways to go...
1. There is an M Bumper retrofit kit you can buy that is made to fit directly on to a 325is. ($750ish CDN)
2. You buy the real M3 Bumper and the needed parts and install it. (not sure on price)
I have been told that option 1 is not the authentic M3 bumper, but rather a bumper that the M division made to fit 325s. This is similar to the "M Performance Edition" in the new 330s. But, I have been told that on e36s the difference between the kit and the actual M3 bumper is not as large as on the e46s (very noticable).
For those with M3 Bumpers.... Did you just buy this retrofit kit, or will the real M3 bumper fit? Any pics of either would be appreciated for comparison!
the M-technic bumper is the way to go. Those cheap glass bumpers for $300 like your amigo's suck balls. You want a quality eurothane front bumper. if not you will bust it up the first time you get to close to a speed bump, curb, or a partking space pylon.
ACS also makes a front bumper that looks nice.
mentioned earlier bavauto.com has both of these kits, and will run you $550 for the bumper plus shipping and painting. I would estimate $750.00 for the whole thing.
Either that or start calling up the salvage yards....

I have done that a time ago, but they are very rare. The best way to get one is to buy a M3, scrap the front bumper off and put it on your 318/325/328.

You mention the M-Technic bumper.... this is not the actual M3 bumper.
Is there a visual difference between the two on e36s?
Do most of you run BMW M-Technic or real M3 bumpers?

My sh*t is not disco. Thank You.
I think it looks really nice, but I don't have money for it.
I kinda like my '92 front bumper. When I get some paint mixed and paint it I plan to remove the middle slots and put black mesh in them. That's the most cost effective way atleast, and I have like no money right now. Also the like 94+ had a different front bumper where the brake ducts and main grill thing (I don't know what it's called) are combine into one long one. I don't like that as much.
