Lowering My Car, Maybe...

i was wondering how bad the camber on a 328is with, lets say a 1.5 front and 1 rear lowering? Can the stock camber adjustments be adjusted enough for it to wear the tires evenly with out camber plates?

I have a 1996 328is with 18'' rims...lowered it 1.5 in the front, and 1.0 in the back. No additional adjustments were needed...

if you go any farther than Deloriants drop you will get a pretty good amount of negative camber on the rear tires and a little on the front. negative camber in the front is good for handling but excessive negative rear camber will cause unusual treadwear. if you do not want the rear camber u can get control arms to adjust it

Ya know.. in my own opinion.. your camber issues.. will be dealt with depending on the amount of drop... WITH the width of your tires.... I've actually tested this problem out many times.. going back and forth from 245s to 235s to what I have now .. which is 265s... the wider the tire.. the more stress it puts on your suspension... thus the more negetive camber...

The lowering of your car from what you wrote shouldnt be all that bad.. I wouldnt worry about it... at the most it will be minimal.. and if noticed will be fixed by a mere exchanging of tires around the wheels... no prob...

p.s.Deloriant, how wide are your tires and have you had your tires on long enough for the negative camber to effect the tires? can you elaberate on any problems you had or if there is anything i should look out for?

I am also interested in lowering my car but im really afraid of the cons that come with it, scraping ie exhaust, under panels, and camber wear
