yes, I just recently purchased a 97' 318is, im having alot of complications looking for a intake for my car. They seem hard to come by. I recently purchsed a new Bosal exhuast system, it gets put in the 15th of this month. I would like to have a intake for my car so it has a extremely wonderful air flow..where do I get one? I have found one made by Toucan but I have never heard anything good about that company. Alot of times I think ive found one but its for a 318i rather then IS..does that make a difference? ahhh help me out somebody!?
all 318s have the same motor... meaning it will work for for both I, and IS...
just a word of advice.. and intake is not a noticable gain in HP... so my suggestion is to buy a cheap CAI in ebay, and change the air filter to a K&N...
i must say stick to K&Ns. its relatively cheap and will do the same job as other intakes meant for bimmers. hp gain is minimal with all intakes so cant go wrong with K&Ns. you'll love the reving sound once installed
I had the CAI from here, fitment was okay, had to cut a little of the piping down to get a perfect fitment. But for a true CAI (filter will sit nicely in the front bumper), not a bad price. Also had the filter swapped with a K&N
I would be scared of having my intake that low, one good splash from a puddle and you're screwed.

ay thanks for the reply, i ended up gettin a exhaust through Dinan, ive heard alot of good feed back about them..my exhaust after installation was $725..
Well, I'm not looking for Big HP gains, I really just like the sound CAI makes when hitting the gas that deep intake sound is what I'm looking for. Could I just get a K&N filter for my stock intake?
