I'm looking at getting a 1996 BMW 318i, but it has 197k miles on it. I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about this car... I've heard they're great cars and last forever, but I'm just needing a second opinion. Here's a link to the car if it helps.

These cars are bulletproof if treated and maintained properly. It's impossible to tell if that particular car will last for along time or die in 10K. The little 4 banger is a reliable engine, it's not uncommon to see another 100K outa it for sure. See if u can find somone with a carfax membership and see if they can run the VIN and see what kinda service records it has. Finding one with less miles definitely wouldn't be a bad idea though...
