Was wanting to get a cold air intake to put on my 323is and saw some prices really varied on name brands. It seems they all have a pretty similar look and construction and just wandered if you were paying for the name or if there was a really big difference!? And if so what are the some of best kind to get? thanks
do a search on this forum, a while ago I had two very long topics about this....

I am curious to know if there is relly a difference too. I am gonna buy one eventually, but am not gonna go with a cheaper one. I think the ECIS and Conforti intakes look the best to me.
ecisbmw.com - ecis one
turnermotorsport.com - conforti one
I have come to the conclusion that the Dinan stuff is nice and well made, but that it can be overpriced and it is not the top of the line as far as performance goes.
i use ecis and love it! as i have said before performs identical to the conforti, you just pay 100$ more for conforti for the name, and the foam filter. foam filter does keep less particles out, but everyone and there grandma uses k&n and i never hear problems you know! www.ecisbmw.com is awesome sean is a realy nice guy!

thanks for all the info!! Hey with the ecis is that a good filter that comes with it or would you change from that and get a k and n?
I don't think it is a k&n filter, it doesn't look like it it. Bigred would know better since i don't have this intake. K&n and Green filters are supposed to be real good. Also I have seen posts about retrofitting the Conforti foam filter to any other intake.
There used to be a link to a review between a couple of intakes, I will see if I can find it and post it if I do.
