used Just bought some Lockwood dials for my e36 but cannot decide what colour to get, white, bushed alu?
Difficult, also the other problem is, e36 uses white needles, are these OK in the daytime against the white dial faces?
Or would brushed alu be better? I have the silver rings that go on around the guages too.
Opinions please? Any pics of what you have?
Cheers
,
Matt

I personally like the black with the amber lighting. The white seems to be overdone(i saw them in a older Chevy Lumina stock, now that ruins it for all other vehicles). The brushed aluminum I don't think you will like when it is in, it looks out of place unless you do alot of work with the brushed aluminum all over the dash.

Yeah I have all of the chrome bits and I do have a lot of brushed aluminum to go over the dash.
Lockwood dials are white dials usually.

If you really want to go all out I am pretty sure that you could replace the needles too. Then you could have them the exact color you want. If you are going white red or blue looks good in my opinion.

Yeah you are right, trouble is, getting them red in the daytime is fine. But how do I get them to light up for at night?

I am saying that you can buy new needles to go with the gauges and completely replace your stock ones. You can buy red or blue that light up.

I've google'd it and can't find it anywhere. Hmmm, I'll keep looking.
Meanwhile, any takers?
