So I'm looking around my car, and i get to looking up underneath the steering wheel and I look by the kick-panel speaker and there is a little silver switch-type thing, just curious of what it is? I can't seem to find it in my bently manual... thanks!
It probably kills something. Like the odometer? Turn it off and drive it and see if the odometer is dead. Its been known to be done before... Raises questions about the rest of the car.
I thought that maybe it killed the brake lights... you know for those times you need to get away from the cops... but checked that out and that wasn't it, i will check out the odometer thing tomorrow, but i seriously doubt that thats it, the car has 175,000 miles on it.
That will not be in your manual because it is not from the factory. Your best bet is to trace the wires and see where that leads you. Could be lights, ignition, old switch for neons inside, old sub turn-on wire, or any aftermarket add-on.
It could have been to run anything.. for example: aftermarket fogs or undercar neon lights at one point.. Like said above, trace to where the wires lead and you'll have your answer..
