i noticed the lights that illuminate my license plate (in the back, on the trunk lid) arent working. i hope that they're simply just burnt out or something. anyway-- it looks like the bulbs are somehow housed inside the little lip above the plate on that piece. are they? what kind of bulbs are needed? if its not just a burnt out bulb, then what else could it be???
i bought my bulbs from pelican parts, using the part # and everything, got my 2 bulbs, went to install them, and they're totally not the right part at all!
the bulbs i ordered were these:
they are the wrong bulbs-- it looks like the bulb i need is a longer type bulb that fits into a metal harness similar to that of a fluorescent bulb in a home/office. doesnt look like pelicanparts has any other types of bulbs. and on a really odd note, when i took the lights apart and opened them up to replace the bulb, there was no old bulb in there! just empty casing! what the heck. my car is full of suprises. none of them too good.
Wooo people... its a common bulb.... I dont know what it is.. volt or whatever wise... but everytime mine or a friends fails... we go to autozone.. and pick one up... not hard... not ordering and stuff...
Just thought you might want to try the easy road out...
I just replaced the bulbs last nite, the are smaller, just go to the local part store they will help you find it.
i keep gettin "tail light failure" i replaced 2 bulbs that werent burnt out but were turning brown but i still get the light all bulbs work. any ideas?
