hey guyz,
my license plate lights just wentout... i got the bulbs i need but just having hard time taking the stupid lights out...
do i need to unscrew the four screws and remove the whole black strip to remove the lights
OR
do i just use a flat head and try to pry out the lights?

Do you have a camera..??... not sure what your talking about.. take some pictures of what your speaking of and we might be able to help you more... if you have your figner tips on the bulbs.. they shoudl be able to come right out... its not that hard...

Oh and BTW.. what kind of car are you driving??

sorry.. i have 92' 325i..
i am trying to figure out how to remove the complete license plate light housing to change the blown bulbs...
the lights are located right above the license plate in the rear...

Take out the plastic strip. The light holders are inside. You can't pry off the lens covers. If you try you will break them.

I did this about a week ago.

Just unscrew the 4 screws and take the strip off, then the light covers are easily pried out of the way. (mine were stuck a little so they needed some gentle persuasion)

I'd replace the 4 screws while your at it cause mine where getting pretty rusted.
