License plate light staying on

I searched the forum but didn't find the answer. My 93 325i when parked the license plate light stays on, and when I open the trunk, it turns off and the trunk light comes on. Close the trunk and the license plate light is back on. Any suggestions?

You've got a wire exposed or broken giving you a ground/bad ground, check all your wires near the hinged part of boot, you may have to remove the black tape as a wire might be broken inside.

This fixed a few others problems I was having,

My car power locks would occasionly unlock after locking.

and

I am no longer getting a " Brake Light Circuit " warning.
