Lic. Light Failure

Whenever I turn my headlights on, I sometimes get a liscense plate light failure and sometimes it's fine. I know the OBC is correct because I go back and check the Lic plate light. I don't think I've blown a fuse because if I did, the light would just stay off and not come on sometimes. The bulb is obviously fine if it comes on sometimes. Maybe a wire is loose? I'm not exactly sure how to get to the lic. plate bulb. Not a big problem but it's just annoying because it's the only thing keeping me from my "check control ok".

I once got an OBC message of a license plate light failure. When I checked, the light was fine. I replaced the bulbs anyway. The old ones were pretty dark, but they still worked. I never got the error message again.
