That was my first attempt at any box fabrication and I think I did alright (besides I needed to get the real VW carpet to match)
Now I'm going to buy a 10" for my BMW (not sure if I'll miss the sound from my 12" but I want to be able to use a lot of space in the trunk)
Can you show me pictures of your sub in the trunk, whether it's a simple box or a custom job?
I'm thinking of just making a simple box that has the same back angle as the rear seats so it fits tightly... But then I think I may want to display the amp nicely as well..
I had to have mine fit flush with the rear. Takes up too much room otherwise. I'll be building a new box soon so I can add in the XM tuner in as well. Im thinking for that one though I'll go with the sub off centered and have the amp and tuner stacked, room permitting.
Also note the capacitor on the modified CD changer bracket.
Anyway, the current setup:

Drunk and bored so here's a bad shot. horrible install, but I wanted sound immediately. Took the box/sub out of my 5, screwed two pieces of MDF together, threw some felt over it, and instant temporary enclosure/amp rack.
Heck, at least I have access to my amp. Install in my touring was sweet, wish I had pics ghead

Setup looks good! great use of your changer bracket! I'm trying to decide between an Infinity 10" or a JL 10", are you happy with your sub?
jllphan:
That setup looks great too, especially if you just threw it together! I have only ever used the term easy access for one other thing, I guess it's a good thing for amps too!
Sorry geoff, im working on getting some lighting and suspension and brakes..... THEN i may concentrate on the music the stock speakers and 6 disc occupy me fine for the moment... the stock speakers sound great hehe
