ok, i bought my 93 325i a couple of days ago and before i got it, the guy i got it from took it in to get a power steering line replaced. now im leaking a fluid. directly under the headlight but over 4 inches to the passenger side. im assuming that there was a clamp that wasnt tightened all the way, well at least im hoping...what is in that area, i havent really had a chance to REALLY look under the hood....thanks
What color is the fluid? There are no power steering hose fittings on the passenger side of the car.
no sorry its on the drivers side....just a little left of headlight(if your standing infront of it) it seemed to be a brownish red color, but then again it was on asphalt and in a funking parking lot...
Only brownish red fluid that comes to mind is ATF (automatic transmission fluid), which is the fluid used for the transmission (whetehr auto or manual) and for the power steering on these cars.
