lack of power

Hi people i have a 1997 bmw316 1-6 petrol recently i have has problems with the car.everytime i drive the car when i try to accelerate the vehicle lacks power and feels like its going to break down.this problem occurs regularly.i have changed the airflow sensor,and spark plugs
can anyone help

thanks for that i took my bmw to a local garage who plugged a computer in the engine bay there were 2 faults
1:airflow sensor
22 sensor
the computer reset the airflow sensor but the o2 sensor needs changing about 90quid.
has any member had an o2 sensor replaced?

Quid!!! your Uk then, o2 sensor DIY, get one from ebay easy to do, also if your driving is mostly town then its just sooted up go for a 20 mile run motorway or dual,a good thrashing where possible and then get them to do a re diag and see if says the same, if it does, needs change if not no prob.

What did it say for the o2?

cheers for that i will try it but i was thinking of getting one on ebay and fitting it myself but i will try the 20 mile run see if it clears it.90quid at moment is a bit much.
the diog first stated air sensor and lambda sensor the diag was reset and the air sensor works fine but the car is still lacking power the garage stated its the o2 sensor lambda.
