If a power steering pump were to go bad would there be a knocking sound? My steering feels a little lose. It seems the sound is coming from the front, any idea what it could be... Im praying its not rod knock or valve. Im going to go and ask the shops I go to, to see what they say. What you do guys think it may be? Thanks.

it may not be the PS , it could be something connected to the steering like the balljoints, a broken tie rod end, etc etc

I checked out my engine today, my compresion was over 180 on all 6 and no signs on burning oil on plugs. I found out that the sound is coming from the valve cover part that goes over the cam gears and chain. I was told it maybe something to do with my vanos system. I said PS before because my PS was actin a little weird, I think I need new control arms. My engine also feels weaker. I hope to find the problem for sure tomorrow.
