keyless remote

Hey guys,

I installed a "Bulldog" keyless entry system in my 94 320i. (Yeah, me vewy cheap) Will a BMW remote off ebay (I mean remote in the key) work with this type of cheap ass keyless entry system? Or do they use different frequencies/signals etc?

I used the pre wired harness behind the glovebox.

No. The factory key is programmed to work with the factory alarm only.

One more question,

After I connected the aftermarket keyless brain to the pre-wired harness by splicing the wires, each time I used the remote to unlock the car, an alarm started going (lights blinking for 10 seconds) At this point I had to find a wire called FASD (Factory alarm system disable), fish around to match it with a wire from the harness to stop the flashing lights.

Does this mean I already had a factory alarm????
and, If I did, is it not connected to the harness, or do I have the alarm and the pre-wired harness as well?

I'm confused...please help.

your car came pre-wired to install a factory remote by simply pluggin in the "brain" to the wiring harness at the plug which is located behind the glove box. If your plug didn't have the "brain" attached, then there was no factory alarm installed.
