The stock BMW alarm system chirps when u lock/unlock and arm/disarm the car and i think its pretty damn cool for a car that old, u should look into it, bimmers are pre wired for keyless alarm and try to find a used BMw keyless receiver on ebay or something, i am sure you will get what ur lookin for.
They're not all already installed, but the wiring for them is already there. You just need to buy the unit and remotes and install them. You can usually find one used on ebay or bimmerforums.
does anyone know what the part number for the unit in the back is.. and do you need to buy anything besides the box that goes in the back and the remote.. because i've seen that you need to buy the siren and a wiring harness...

Otherwise you can get an aftermarket. Mine is a viper alarm with a two-way remote that has a digital display that will tell you if your alarm has been triggered. I live in the car theft capital of Canada and it works great. Chirps too....
