Keyless entry problem

My keyless entry on my 1998 328is stopped working. When I press my remote my alarm makes a sound, but my locks do not lock or unlock. Any idea on why or how to reprogram?

Can't help you there, I know nothing about keyless entree. Try searching the forums?

Doesn't sound like reprogramming will help. If alarm/horn sounds when you press the buttons, then signal is being received by alarm brain in car.

Could be as simple as wiring to central locking system is disconnected. If you can double lock your car with your key from the trunk, then I think the central locking system is still working...hope these hints help.

If it'll help, the alarm brain with keyless entry is behind the glove box. For the heck of it, try a new battery in the remote.

Well I was looking to buy a 98 328is, and when i asked the seller is it equipped with keyless entry he told me that model year didnt come with keyless entry, would that mean that the car was stolen and he just had some keys made at the dealer, or could it mean something else?
