Remote lock/unlock feature stopped working without warning.
Doors lock manually with key but when I push the lock button on the key remote, the car alarm chirps twice (normally chirps once) and door does not lock. Same result when I push the unlock button, two chirps but no activity on the lock.
All the doors lock when I push the lock/unlock button on the shift console.
I have reset the remote. Didn't make a difference.

I have one key, with the light in it. I have one key fob with two buttons. The fob is a stock bmw one, that came with the car. This only started happening about 4 months ago. it has worked perfectly before this.

I figured it out. The little metal spring thing (I don't know the real name) was bent the wrong way underneath the hood. I bent it back and the door locks now work.

Could be a hood or trunk-open sensor (or door) that is not complying... Just an idea !

Semi-related question: I lost my remote start keypad. Do you if the BMW dealer is the only place to get that replaced?
