yeah - from what I hear, you can get the keys cut pretty much anywhere (even though the dealership will tell you some bs about how they can only do it). What you can't do though is get the chip to work - so the spare key that you have cut may be able to open your doors, but it might not be able to start your car unless the original one is in the vicinity.

used Even cars that old have a chip? I know the valet key/copy template key works to turn mine on and the whole thing is plastic. I seriously doubt that has a chip in it...

I remember reading some posts regarding this a while back - I believe only certain years and perhaps only certain models have the chip in the key.

The 92's won't have a chip. If you get one of the flip keys, do yourself a favor and gorilla glue all the seams. Dropped mine a couple times and it explodes everywhere.

Im pretty sure my 96 is without the chip as well.

I believe all production cars equipped with the chip in the 90s required the chipped key to be in the ignition for it to work...... not like this new-fangled auto-whatchamacallits :lol
