Is the back/rear of the spoiler suppose to be flush with the area that has the emblem or is the spoiler suppose to be closer to the window so it does not hang over the curve of the trunk? I hope that gives a clear idea of what I am asking, if not I can clarify.
I would try and make it as flush as possible witht he back edge of the trunk, but not hanging over. You are talking about the small lip spoiler right? Post some pics too I have been looking for a while and am going to buy in a couple of weeks(I have to pay off the stuff already on order first). Where did you get your spoiler?
Mine is on the very edge of the trunk, so the entire base of the spoiler has contact with the trunk. BUT the lip of the spoiler hangs over the trunk. I went and looked at a M3 before doing mine.

The bottom photo is the one I have. By the looks of it, the pic shows the approx location of where mine is located. I mounted mine to the trunk approx 1/4" from the edge for a good seal and side flushness. What I found is the spoiler was wider than what I liked when it was farther back on the trunk lid. It does not look bad and as soon as I get my firewire card in the mail I will post a pic.

I bought it on ebay for 85.00 with shipping. The color match is good, considering the age of my car. I believe that with some time it will blend a little better. The name of the ebay store is xenonspecialist. I will post some pics soon.

Is there a difference in looks or just in shape of trunk? I saw that both would work, but have no bought one yet. I really like the CSL style for the E46 but I don't think it will work for the E36.
