Juddering electric windows - BMW Forum

I have an M3 E36 Cabrio and all of a sudden, both front electric windows dont open properly! When the button is pressed, the windows may slightly open, another time not, and another time almost all the way. The same problem occurs when closing them too. The problem is the same for both front electric windows. The two rear electric quarters are perfect. I have checked the fuse for a loose connection but it all seems ok. Any ideas. Thanks

I can be one of two things:

1) The window motors dying out
2) Bad/Loose wiring to the windows.

I was thinking that too but it seems odd that both windows started the problem at exactly the same time in which case i dont think its the motors. Someone mentioned it may be the relay in the same compartment as the fuse box. I was trying to check but but there isnt a layout showing which relay operates the windows. Time to buy a Haynes manual I think
