So, I finally got everything I need to start my upgrades this coming Saturday.... Eibach Front & Rear Sway Bar Kit, Blaupunkt Powered Subwoofer, also have to replace my radiator, installation of rear shock tower reinforcement plates, & a power steering system flush to do.......
more pics of install's to come.....
Eibach Front & Rear Sway Bar Kit........
I was going to modify this BSW Powered Stealth Subwoofer to fit my e36 non-convertible.....but I decided that the $549.99 set up cost too much, so I ordered this Blaupunkt Powered Subwoofer which measures up pretty much the same, but at a much lower price.....$179.99 after $20.00 rebate......& I will be installing it behind the rear seat center armrest.....through the trunk
johnny how's it going? I would look into the rear swaybar reinforcement plates. I got some aftermarket sways along with a lot of m3 parts (whole rear end). The rear swaybar mounting tabs on that cars subframe were starting to tear. Had Racing Dynamics sways, so I welded on the pieces..

Ok.....how is everything with you, are you going to be @ the upcomimg meet here in NJ 3/29/09?.....& what mounting tabs are you referring to, the ones that mount the bushings to the frame?
Johnny I would agree with Nick, I would definitely look into the reinforced plates. They are basically little triangles that you weld in to provide extra reinforcement where the bars mount. I see them all the time at my local performance shop who does a lot of work on BMWs.

the other Nick answered for me The triangular pieces go behind where the sway bar bushings mount, and to the rounded part of the subframe where the 2 rear subframe bushings sit. So basically it stops the thin piece of the subframe that the sway bar bushings mount to from moving. They can bend very easily, I put a little weight on the subframe when I was going to weld the plates in and they bent completely inwards so nvmd when you have thicker sways and are driving the car hard.
