It's been argued about up and down in almost every section in this forum

They are different engines built for different purposes. The LS1 is a fantastic engine and serves its purpose, as does the bmw i6.

The LS1 weighs less than most bmw iron block 6 cylinders.

LS1 does everything better it's lighter, more powerful, easier to mod, cheaper to maintain. Only thing it might not have is durability, but that's argueable.
