i was out looking at a 94' 320i earlier in the summer, and everywhere i looked on it like the windows and under the hood, it was all in japanese. and i even looked in the glove compartment and tried to read the bmw manuals but they too were in japanese. if anyone reads this and lives in okc, the car sales place was called Spankey's on tulsa and 39th street. does anyone know or seen anything like this?
Wouldnt surprise me that a BMW from that area of the world got shipped over... I'm not sure it if was made to european specs or not.. but it would be interesting to own it...
To do list:
Suspension--- researching
UUC System U TDM- 3/05
M50 manifold converstion 3/05
off to the tuning shop for custom software 4/05
Cams/lightened flywheel, throttlebody........ well lets see what happens

ROLF lol
i wouldnt buy a BMW from Japan in the US cuz often cars that have ben salvaged in floods are imported in to diffrent markets and then sold to unsuspecting buyers.

If it's on the right side in Japan, that should already be a good indication that it isn't from Japan. I doubt anyone would go through that much trouble to import a 320.
Best solution, do a VIN check and research the car history.

well i was never going to buy it in the first place, but it just made me a bit curious. the steering column was on the left side. but it was just weird seeing everything in japanese. yeah spankey's car lot kinda buys cars and paints them the same color when they fix them up. so there's a big hint that the cars have been fucked up. my bro bought a 90' 535i, loaded, mint condition, at the end of the month a couple years ago for 4 grand. it had average miles on it, and the body is perfect. i guess they were trying sell as many cars as possible, but he has never had one problem with the car yet.

Get the VIN and carfax it, that will answer any questions you have about the car.

CarFax is crap. Don't waste your money. If it says something bad, then you know something is bad. However if it clean on CarFax.. You still cannot trust it. I have a car that was in an accident and had over $6K damage done. Was reported to county police, and repaired at City Chevrolet in Charlotte, NC. Still did not show up in CarFax.

He said his car has Japanese words on it, using carfax should show you at least if the car came from Japan. If anyone repairs their own cars, you'll never know no matter what you do.There really is no other solution is there? Car fax is better than nothing.
It will at least show you how many owers it has gone through and which countries it was previously owned in.
If a car had over $6000 of damage in it, you should be able to tell that it doesn't drive properly if you test drive it. Rust or paint touchups are a huge indication. At any rate. I think carfax would help his situation out a lot. I would pay for it reguardless of whether or not it provided me with any useful information. It's better than twiddling my thumbs sitting there just wondering. Anyways, I can get free car faxes from work, so just shoot me your vins!

It's like $20 or something? I think that's a sound investment for something you might purchased for a few grand then go on to spend even more money if that car has seen some serious abuse. Car fax is more for people who have a good knowledge of mechanics and how a car works, just enough to be able to tell if a car has been in any serious accidents or a hack job was done on it. Aside from that, carfax is a great way to see just how many people have owned your car and where the heck it's been. For $20, I'd like to know, wouldn't you?
Anyways, poke around, there are a lot of FREE car faxes.

yeah this was in the summer sometime so it might be sold. but i just came accross this car when i was looking for e36. i just kept on forgeting to post this and see what everyone thought. but the 320i wasn't the best out there. i found mine (94 325is) with only 100k, calypso metallic color and just loved it from the first sight. so i bought the 325is. but yeah i've been around bmw's for a while now, bc my family owns 5 of them. and still never came accross one like this, so i wanted to see if anyone else has.
are japanese cars right or left hand drive.. and with the 318i theres is also known as an m43 instead of us m42 so check into that and it should confirm weather it is an japenese import or wat
