Intake Funny Noise

hi guys i just installed a cold air intake with K&N filter. Well the dopes who sent it didnt send the bracket to mount it hahaha so then i had to head over to pepboys to pick one up. Sure enough they had one that fit. so then after installing the thing im driving around and right around 2500 its making a weird whistling noise like a leak or something it sounds like. I have never heard this noise come out of other peoples cold airs that i know. its a very high pitched sucking noise i cant tell whats causing it and i tightened everything pretty damn tight. and its not the sucking noise that the intake makes its a distinctly different sound.

you could start the car, pop the hood and rev the car from under the hood to try to figure out where exactly the sound is coming from. obviously its the intake but you know what i mean, if theres a leak or something... or maybe thats just your intake sound? haha

yea i cant pinpoint really where the sound is coming from but it definitly sounds kinda rediculous at some points. My friend heard it and started laughing like what the hell did you do. I dont know maybe it could be the sound of the intake but i have never heard someones sound like an air leak or something. Has anyone ever had a problem like that before?

just curious what intake did you buy?

Maybe the filter is torn? You might try getting a replacement filter.

it is a K&N filter which is brand new right out of the box. as for the other stuff it was just a little pipe the same as everyone elses.
