i want to get an intake for my 318i, yea i know, 4cyl, still want one...nothint big or fancy or anything, just an ebay one with a k&n, as for the heashield, kinda hard finding one with one,

Hey Miguel. When I said heat shield I meant something along the lines of










See hwo its basically this little plastic or metal piece that puts the shield in it's own corner? It fits flush with your hood in order to create it's own little pocket. Ive seen the heatshield you are talkign about before and I honestly dont think it does enough. The pics ive shown are probably somethign youve seen before. And if youve heard of them before you might know that they are semi-easy to construct. You could prbably make it on your own with a little bit of measuring and handy work!

o oh, i see what you mean now, ive been reading about this whole debaffeliling the airbox...yes...i know....leave me alone...its late and im tired but bored....anyways...debaffelign, someone please clear these 2 things up cause it seems that every thread i read has something different, just to be sure, i have a 94 318i with 100k, i want to get a cone filter, but if i can get the "same" effect form debaffling the airbox...then hell...why spend over 50 bucks? thanks !

1.) does the sound change?
2.) any increase in HP

I like the idea of putting it down behind your bumper better, the air will always be cooler and no need for a head shield, the only problem is water but you can get one of those 'one way valve' things or whatever they're called!

Yeah like 5hp, but it will sound cool and maybe feel slightly faster! Just don't buy a cheap one, if you get a cone get an K&N!
