I currently have a 1.1 N reg Ford Fiesta and it is a nightmare! I even got overtaken by and Ice Cream van the other day!!
I've always liked BMW's and I've seen a lot of them priced at reasonable prices. Does anyone know roughly how much it'd cost me to insure a 1800cc BMW 3 series? I don't want to ring up for quotes just yet, just incase I get laughed at. Also, I have not done Pass Plus yet, but I do plan on doing it soon.
Why would you get laughed at? unless you're funny looking?
You don't have to go anywhere, just call a few places and tell them that you're calling around for quotes. Insurance rates depends on a lot on your driving record.
I'm 26 drive a 1996 328is, I have several tickets, no accidents, or claims in the past, but only have 1 or 2 tickets on my current 3-year driving record. I have full-coverage, and I pay about $160/month.
Yes I feel like I'm being ripped off and I'm sure theres going to be about 20-30 post with people say how they pay less.
If anyone can name some good insurance companies numbers or links here in the US, I wouldn't mind calling for a quote. Thanks!
My insurance on my BMW 318 conv. was 929.00 every six months. I then called them back and told them that the car was for pleasure and i would probably drive it only 6 or 7 thousand miles a year. My insurance went down to 816.00. So that might help a little. But either way you are going to pay alot no matter what car especially a BMW. Good luck.
Craig

My M3 is a Hybrid.................It burns gas and rubber.
In the US, I don't know if you're from the US or not, I payed a bit over 2000$ a year for my 318 at 18. When I got the 325 it went up to about 2500$. I then worked with them on how to get it down, and it's about 2000$ now. I've done a local racing class which was considered a "defensive driving" class by my insurance company, and a few other things to lower it. It also depends heavily on where you live. Right now, my insurance company doesn't know I go to a college in Pittsburgh... they think I live in a nice, quiet nieghborhood.
i am also looking at getting a 93 325is. i called my insurance agent and he said it would be about 100-200 cheaper than what i am paying right now ($1100 every 6 months on a 99 Chevy Blazer). I am 19 years old
Hmmm...I think I can be of good assistance for you, since I'm in the same situation pretty much.
I am 17 years old, and I own a 1995 325is, good stuff however, I bought the car BEFORE I looked up quotes...
If I was to have my own insurance policy, with just the MINIMUM coverage (Liability), insurance would be $1,400 a month for me...
That's rediculous, but all the other quotes I got from other companies were very much the same.
Right now I'm insured under my moms name, and therefore I pay $266 a month...
So, get it under your parents name? Or a close friends parents or something...just a middle age adult with a good driving record.

Damn, is that correct? I am 18 and did an online quote for an M3 with liability and restricted comprehensive and it came out to 2600 every six months. I have no accidents or tickets. It can't drop that much just because of turning 18.

I'll be 21 here in 20 days, and I pay 300/month for full coverage on my '89 turbo 325i including coverage of the motor. The f|_|cked up part is to insure a '89 944 turbo porsche its only 185 for the same coverage. Tempting me to go to another brand :|
I'm 23 and I had to put mine on my parents insurance with me as a weekend only driver. I pay 260 a month full coverage. If it wasn't insured on my parents plan I'd have to pay 500 a month.
