mine one is leaking glue out of it on hot days so i got a replacement one. i've searched but cannot find how to take the old one off, i read in places people knocking them off by accident but how do u actualy remove it from the windshield without breaking it, as the guy who took my replacement one off this morning broke the windshield it was on. i could not find anything in the bentley!

Rotate it on the axis of the windshield, like your unscrewing it. There's a metal bracket epoxied to the windshield that the mirror connects to.
That guy owes you another windshield if he broke yours

he broke his own windscreen while taking the mirror off for me lol

looking at this picture, do i just turn the whole thing anti-clockwise except the very thin bit that is actually glued to the windscreen?

You can twist clockwise or counter clockwise it doesn't matter.

You need to twist it as far as far as this 1st picture shows

This is a picture of the back of the mirror notice the 3 bars

This is a picture of the piece that the mirror hooks onto the windshield

To remove twist to the position shown in the 1st picture and it will pop off

To reinstall, align the 3 metal bars in the 2nd picture to the 3 longer sides in the 3rd picture and rotate to proper position

FYI it dosn't matter which direction you turn it.

Just grab the plastic arm that is behind the miror and use that as a lever to rotate it.
I like to turn it away from the driver's side to take it off whenever I clean the inside of my windshield since the angle of the mirror to the driver's seat allows me to turn it all the way without the roof getting in the way. That way, I don't have to re-adjust the mirror every time I take it off.

I know all about this damn mirror because of a retarded goose that decided to dive-bomb me while I was going about 110mph on the highway... Windshield shattered & the mirror flew off and landed behind my seat, so I couldn't tell if the goose was dead or not. I never saw that bastard again. Apparently my roof and bodywork are fine though....

it'll crack the windshield if u try and rip out the little circle bit that is glued on, it twists of just fine. windshield will crack if u try and pry it off with a screwdriver, if u use heat (like some1 said b4) it would probably come off fine. anyway i replaced mine and its all good, thnx for ur help ppl!
