| Inlet hose on cylinder head ! Hi everyone , i'm quite new here , but i'll just say what a great forum this is
I've got a 92 318is automatic that has two problems , untill recently had a plug that would wet up with what smelled like radiator water , i'd clean the plug spray the lead with WD40 and the car would run fine for about a month , then the car would slowly start to misfire more and more , then i would repeat the process all would be fine again for a while , then the starter motor failed and in the process of fitting the new motor , the guy fitting it said the metal pipe that that the heater hose goes on to at the rear of the head had started to disintergrate , and when he reassembled the car it was leaking badly.
I have now stripped the inlet manifold off and can just about see the offending pipe and its rotting quite bad , has anyone been successfull getting this pipe out without stripping the car down any further , any idea's would be really helpfull , i'm hoping that if i can get this pipe out and a new one in , i can add some K seal to the water , the mechanic guy said i might have a porous head
Thanks
